Balance First = Learn to Ride

Class Description

This class is designed to teach one how to balance and pedal a bicycle. We offer classes for youth, 5 - 12 years old and Teens/Adults, 13 yrs. and older. Teens are welcome to join either class. Starting, stopping and steering skills are introduced as well.

REALLY IMPORTANT for Learn to Riders of all ages.
The bike seat must be lowered enough to enable the rider to SIT while placing their HEELS FLAT on the ground.
This increases control and reduces anxiety while learning to balance.  Riders must wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet. We have plenty of tools and will help adults learn to prepare the bikes by lowering the seats and removing the pedals.

BIKES AND HELMETS ARE AVAILABLE TO BORROW FOR ADULTS ONLY.  FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE

Please email education@bikewalkmontclair.org to inquire about rental availability.

Learn to ride registration comes with unlimited refills!  Registrants may RETURN TO AS MANY CLASSES AS IT TAKES to “earn their pedals", without the need to register again. Just show your original registration confirmation receipt.

We rarely cancel due to rain, but if we do, we will post it on FACEBOOK
